Main Ingredients

1 - 8 oz. package of cream cheese

1 bunch of green onions, chopped

1/2 tsp. salt

12 fresh basil leaves, chopped

1 clove garlic, chopped

2 - 3 san marzano tomatoes, or a pint of cherry tomatoes

6 slices of bacon, crisply cooked and crumbled

10 bread of choice, with crust removed, about slices (i used tomato basil bread)


1Slice the tomatoes into thin slices and lay out on paper towels to drain.

2In a food processor, blend together the cream cheese, green onions, garlic, basil and salt.

3Spread a thin layer of the cream cheese mixture on a slice of bread.

4Top the cream cheese with crumbled bacon.

5Lay slices of tomato on top of the bacon.

6Garnish with a small basil leaf or some basil blossoms.

Additional Notes

I used tomato basil bread, but sour dough would also be good, or white. Basil blossoms are edible and look pretty as garnish. The prep time includes cooking the bacon.
