Smothered Turkey Patties In Mushroom & Vidalia Gravy

This recipe is quick and easy for a hearty weekday meal! For an even faster meal and less clean up, try preparing turkey patties in an air fryer! PLUS less fat and calories!

Main Ingredients

1 lb lean ground turkey (veggie alternative will work as well)

2 pkgs/ pints sliced mushrooms

1 vidalia onion, thinly sliced

2 tbsp olive oil or grapeseed oil

4 cloves garlic, crushed

2 tsp sea salt

32 oz container vegetable broth

4 green onions chopped

abstract spice

4 cups chopped collards (optional)


1For patties:

2Section ground turkey into 8 small discs.

3Season both sides w/ Abstract Spice.

4Add cooking spray to pan on med/high heat.

5Cook each patty for 2 minutes on each side- remove patties from pan and set aside. Do not clean out pan.

6If using an air fryer, add seasoned patties on 370 degrees for 10 minutes :-)

7Set aside:

8In the same pan that turkey patties were prepared on med/high heat, add oil, garlic, onions. Add 1 tsp sea salt. Sauté until onions become translucent, stirring constantly not to burn garlic for approximately 4 minutes.

9Add in mushrooms (*add collards at this time) and stir for approximately 3-4 minutes or until mushrooms begin to brown. Stir in 1 tsp sea salt.

10Mix in broth and let simmer on low for approximately 5 minutes. Add green onions.

11Last, add in prepared turkey patties (or veggie alternative) ensuring each patty is immersed/coated in the light gravy.


Additional Notes

This dish is pairs perfectly over mashed potatoes, rice, couscous, quinoa, veggie noodles, or simply by itself!
