Main Ingredients

3 cups of figs, quartered (if frozen, allow to thaw in refrigerator)

1/2 cup of brown sugar

1/4 cup of maple syrup

1/4 cup of water

1 drop of rosemary essential oil

1 drop of thyme essential oil

Preparation

1In a large bowl, mix figs, syrup, and essential oils together. Let sit for about 15 minutes to absorb flavor.

2After 15 minutes, transfer to a large saucepan and add sugar and water.

3Bring to a boil, stirring constantly. Reduce to a simmer once all the sugar as dissolved.

4Continue to simmer for about 15 minutes, until the jam has thickened.

5If desired, you can now run the jam through a food processor or blender until it is less “chunky”.

6Transfer to a glass jar and let cool. Jam should stay fresh in a refrigerator for at least a month!
