Rose Simple Syrup
I make this syrup from rose petals gathered at the beach in summer. It's beautiful and delicious! Add to carbonated water, iced tea, drizzle it on ice cream or cake - you can't go wrong.

1 cup sugar
1 cup water
1 cup fresh rose petals (unsprayed)
1Combine sugar and water in saucepan. Bring just to a boil. Remove from heat and add rose petals. Let steep until cooled, or for at least 15 minutes. Strain rose petals out, squeezing remaining liquid from petals. Store in a tightly lidded glass jar in the refrigerator.
