Main Ingredients

9 oz. tequila, silver or gold

9 oz. triple sec or cointreau

12 oz. simple syrup*

24 oz. lime juice (i used nellie and joe's key lime juice)

750 ml bottle of prosecco**, chilled

kosher or course salt for rimming if that floats your boat

lime wedges for rimming and garnish

1Combine tequila, triple sec, simple syrup, and lime juice to merry flavors. Chill for a few hours if possible.

2To rim glasses, rub edge with lime wedge. In a small plate, pour course salt (I like kosher) in a thin layer. Flip glass and grind into salt until salt adheres to edge.

3Once margarita ingredients have had time to get friendly, pour into large pitcher. Uncork Prosecco and pour into pitcher. Gently stir Prosecco and margarita

4Distribute into glasses for 10 well-derserving friends or 10 people you want to become friends with (this will make you have friends instantly!).

Additional Notes

*Simple syrup is equal parts water and sugar. For this recipe, you need 1 1/2 cups of water and sugar, bring to a boil, and stir until sugar is dissolved. Chill in refrigerator until ready to use. **Since you are mixing the Prosecco with other liquors, I do not recommend using a fancy bottle. Honestly, I usually buy $5.00 bottles at Trader Joe's.
