I swear, this pâté does not taste like a mouthful of liver and the nutritional benefits are way off the charts.
Liver is full of protein (try 22 grams in 3 oz!), iron, vitamins A, B-6, B-12 and C. Lard is full of B vitamins and minerals - not to mention it has less fatty acids than butter. It tastes good, its healthy, its easy to make and not that expensive.

1 lb chicken livers
8 tablespoons lard
2 cloves garlic, minced
.5 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon pepper
1 teaspoon sage
1Lightly fry your livers in just a little bit of lard, until cooked through.
2Throw everything into a food processor and mix until smooth.
3You can eat it now, or chill for a couple of hours.
Pro tip: Grab some crackers or toast, garnish with some pepper, green onion or whatever you have on hand. Couldn't be simpler!
