Ingredients

2 cups steel cut

2 - 3 cups water

1 tbsp ground flax seeds

1 tbsp whole chia seeds

2 tbsp ground sunflower seeds

3 tbsp honey

2 tbsp avocado oil

2 1/4 tsp (7 grams) yeast, specifically fleischmann's activedry yea envelope

pinch of salt

1 1/2 cups white flour

Crust Topping (for show)

1/2 tbsp whole sunflower seeds

1/2 tbsp whole rolled or quick oats

1/2 tbsp whole flax seeds

Preparation

1First things first, soak the steel cut oats in 2-3 cups of water of hot water. I suggest starting with about 2 cups of water to start I let them sit for 30- mins to 1 hour. Add more, if needed, until the oats are fully saturated.

2Add about 1 Tbsp of the hot water to the yeast and let sit for 5 mins

3If you don't already have ground flax seeds, grind more than twice the amount (>2 Tbsp) of whole flax seed into ground flax seeds.

4Grind up twice the amount (>4 Tbsp) of whole sunflower seeds into ground sunflower seeds. I like to coarsely grind the sunflower seeds so that the pieces are a bit larger. (Note: keep chia seeds whole)

5mix round flax seeds, whole chia seeds, ground sunflower honey, tbsp avocado oil
