Mom's Lethal Pecan Pie
Mom's sought after Thanksgiving pecan pie recipe.

1 1/4 cups dark corn syrup
1 cup firmly packed light brown sugar
4 tablespoons unsalted butter
4 large eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 1/2 cups pecans (halved or broken into pieces)
1/4 teaspoon salt
9 inch unbaked pie shell
1Preheat oven to 350 degrees F
2Combine corn syrup and sugar in 1-quart saucepan and stir over moderate heat until sugar has dissolved. Let mixture boil 2-3 minutes, remove from heat and stir in butter.
3In 2-quart mixing bowl, beat eggs well with wire whisk or electric mixer. Continue to beat while slowing pouring in syrup. Stir in vanilla, pecans and salt.
4Pour half of mixture into unbaked pie shell, place on center rack of oven. Pour in remaining mixture and bake 45-50 minutes, or until filling has set. You may have to cover crust with foil to prevent burning.
