Main Ingredients

1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

1 teaspoons baking soda

3/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1/2 teaspoon ground cloves

1/2 teaspoon ground ginger

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/2 cup unsalted butter

1/2 cup sugar

1/4 cup dark brown sugar

1 egg 1/4 cup molasses

Preparation

1Preheat the oven to 350 degrees and cover a cookie sheet with parchment paper.

2In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, cinnamon, clove, ginger and salt.

3Beat the butter, sugar and brown sugar with an electric mixer until combined. Add the eggs and molasses and continue until combined. Reduce the mixer to low and add the dry ingredients 1/2 cup at a time.

4Sprinkle some flour on your hands and press the dough into an even layer, about 1/4 inch thick on the prepared baking sheet.

5Bake for 10-12 minutes or until a knife inserted into the center comes out clean.

6Let cool completely and then cut into bite sized pieces.
