Main Ingredients

1/2 cup of butter

1 cup of sugar

1 1/2 teaspoons of vanilla

2 eggs

1 1/2 cups of flour

1 3/4 teaspoon of baking powder

1/2 cup of milk

3 - 4 drops of young living lavender oil

For the orange frosting:

3 1/2 cups powdered sugar

1 tablespoon milk (more or less to get correct consistency)

1 - 2 drops young living wild orange essential oils


1To make cupcakes:

2In the bowl of a stand mixer cream butter and sugar together.

3Add 1 egg and beat until incorporated. Add 2nd egg and vanilla and mix to incorporate.

4Add flour and baking powder and mix thoroughly.

5Add milk, and lavender and mix to combine.

6Fill paper lined muffin tins to 2/3 full with batter.

7Bake at 350 degrees for 20-25 minutes.

8Cool completely.

9To make the frosting:

10Beat together butter and shortening until light and fluffy.

11Add the powdered sugar on low speed, 1/2 cup at a time. After every other addition, beat the frosting on high speed for a few seconds to whip it.

12Add Orange Oil

13Once all the sugar has been incorporated, add the extracts and mix to combine.

14Frost cupcakes and keep cool as the buttercream can get soft in heat.
