Another recipe derived from my quirky imagination. Only the best smoothies in town make you say #KaleYeah. Feel the power of cruciferous veggies in this 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 veggie/fruit punch! Makes you wanna say Kale Yeah, huh?

Main Ingredients

5 - 6 kale leaves stripped from their stems

1 thumb-sized piece of ginger, peeled

1 overripe banana

1 - 2 granny smith apples, chopped

1/2 cup ground flaxseed

1/4 cup lemon juice

2 cups water

1 cup ice (optional)


1Prepare your fruits and vegetables according to the ingredients list above and set aside.

2Add ice to the blender. Add kale, apples, banana, ginger, ground flaxseed, lemon juice, water.

3Blend covered on high until the mixture is pureed.

4Enjoy right away in whichever glass of your choosing. Feeling fancy? Sip it in a wine glass. Not so fancy? Pour it in a mason jar.

5Not drinking it right away? Store covered in a mason jar in the fridge. Drink smoothies within two days of making them.

Additional Notes

Have a fear of kale? Swap it out with spinach or another leafy veggie of your choosing.
