Homemade Tzatziki With Lemon Essential Oil

Tzatziki can be enjoyed as a snack served with pita bread or other a dipping bread of your choice, or it can be a great accompaniment with dinner and other side dishes such as lemon roasted potatoes and chicken. This dish can also be prepared ahead of time making it a delicious, time-saving appetizer to serve when your guests arrive.

The following recipe includes doTERRA lemon essential oil in place of lemons, and the dill and pepper could also be replaced with essential oil, as well. Serve chilled and enjoy!

Main Ingredients

1 cucumber, grated

2 garlic cloves, minced

1/4 cup onion, minced

2 tbsp fresh dill, chopped

2 cups greek yogurt

6 drops lemon essential oil

pinch salt

pinch pepper


1Grate the cucumber into a small bowl and add the salt. Let sit for 10 minutes and push against a sieve or mesh strainer to remove excess liquid.

2Add rest of the ingredients and stir thoroughly.

3Cover and let sit for a few hours before serving so that flavours are enhanced.

Additional Notes
