Gut Healing Banana Cacao Smoothie

In a high-powered blender, combine all ingredients and blend until smooth. If you need more liquid you can add more almond milk or water and blend until you get the consistency you like. You may also add in some stevia to sweeten up your smoothie, I highly recommend Sweet Leaf brand as it is one of the purest forms of stevia on the market (do not use artificial sweeteners, Splenda, Truvia, etc., t. . .

Main Ingredients

2 - 3 frozen bananas

2 - 3 large handfuls of spinach (i promise, you don't even taste it! )

1/4 of an avocado

2 tablespoons of almond butter

2 tablespoons raw cacao powder

1 teaspoon maca powder

2 cups of almond milk or water

optional: stevia to sweeten (i recommend sweet leaf brand)

Preparation

1In a high-powered blender, combine all ingredients and blend until smooth. If you need more liquid you can add more almond milk or water and blend until you get the consistency you like. You may also add in some stevia to sweeten up your smoothie, I highly recommend Sweet Leaf brand as it is one of the purest forms of stevia on the market (do not use artificial sweeteners, Splenda, Truvia, etc., that stuff is pure poison!)

2If you are seed cycling for your hormones (or are interested in trying it out), smoothies are a great way to get in your seeds every day because you don't have to grind them ahead of time! Add in 1 Tbs. of pumpkin seeds and 1 Tbs. of flax seeds if you are on days 1-14 of your cycle, or 1 Tbs. of sunflower seeds and 1 Tbs. of sesame seeds (or raw tahini) if you are on the second half of your cycle.

Additional Notes

Feel free to add in any powdered supplements you would like, I typically will add in some turmeric to fight inflammation and sometimes a gluten free mushroom blend to boost my immunity. Get creative and really customize this smoothie to your personal tastes, I promise it will quickly become a staple breakfast item or treat!
