Fresh Fruit Salad With Strawberry And Vanilla Yoghurt

Fresh Fruit Salad is a fantastic way to combine different coloured fruits to ensure we get a mix of nutrients. It’s also very popular with children, making it an excellent choice for morning or afternoon tea at the Centre. Here, we combined it with a delicious and naturally flavoured Strawberry and Vanilla Yoghurt, which is a much healthier alternative to the high sugar, commercial varieties.

Main Ingredients

for the fruit salad:

1 banana, peeled

1 red apple, washed

1 orange, peeled

1 gold kiwifruit, peeled

1 green kiwifruit, peeled

1/4 tsp cinammon

for the strawberry and vanilla yoghurt:

6 - 8 large strawberries, halved

1/4 tsp vanilla essence

1 kg x tub plain greek yoghurt


1Dice all the fruit into small cubes. Place fruit and cinammon in a bowl and gently stir until fruit is well mixed and coated with the spice. Reserve.

2For the yoghurt, blend the strawberries with the vanilla essence and a little water until it resembles a pulpy juice. In a bowl, mix the strawberry pulp with the yoghurt.

3Serve the fruit salad topped with some yoghurt. Enjoy.

Additional Notes

Try different combinations of fruit according to seasonability. It's advisable to always include an orange as it stops fruits such as bananas and apples going brown.
