Farold's Famous Fruit Salad

My grandma makes this sweet side dish for every holiday. I grew up looking forward to family gatherings because I knew a big bowl of this creamy sweet fruit salad would be on the table!

Main Ingredients

1 10oz bag of miniature marshmallows

1 small jar of maraschino cherries (cut in half) reserve juice

1 large bunch of seedless grapes (cut in half)

1 28oz can of fruit cocktail (drained)

5 0r 6 large bananas (sliced)

3 - 4 lbs of apples (gala or fugi works well)

1 pint of whipping cream

Preparation

1Prepare fruit and place in large bowl. Mix in marshmallows, fruit cocktail and maraschino cherries.

2In a cold bowl, whip cream until it peaks. Mix in a bit of the reserved maraschino cherry juice to add color.

3Stir whipped cream into fruit and fold until completely mixed.

4Chill until ready to serve

Additional Notes

This fruit salad can be used as a side dish or a dessert. This is a great dish for potluck dinners.
