Easy Bacon-braised Cabbage
It's time to embrace one of the cheapest, most underrated vegetables out there! This tender, smoky (thanks bacon), flavor-packed side dish will leave you wondering how you made it so far in life without it.

2 slices of bacon (i used benton's)
1 head shredded cabbage
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 cups beef bone broth (you could easily use chicken, too)
1In a deep pot or Dutch oven, brown two pieces of bacon (or one large piece) until crispy and some of the fat has rendered out (DO NOT GET RID OF THAT LIQUID GOLD).
2Add the shredded cabbage and salt. Quickly sauté to coat the cabbage in bacon drippings. Pour in the bone broth, reduce to a simmer, and cover for 20-30 minutes or until cabbage is soft and tender.
3Serve immediately with corned beef, fried eggs, sausage, or devour straight from the pot.
This recipe doubles EASILY. Feel free to braise two heads of cabbage at a time. It will look like a TON at first, but you'll be amazed how much it cooks down in the end.
