Doggy Cupcakes For Daisy

This recipe was made especially for our Golden Doodle, Daisy. I searched for recipes, and when I was unable to find any, I made one up. If you have any fur babies, you might want to try this for a special treat (such as a birthday). I used Young Living Essential Cinnamon Bark Vitality Oil since it is a dietary oil and does not hurt dogs. I also used homemade applesauce from a previous post.

Main Ingredients

1 egg

1 drop young living cinnamon bark

1/4 c peanut butter

1/3 c honey

1/4 c canola oil

2 t applesauce

1 t vanilla extract

1 c shredded carrots

1 t baking soda

1 c whole wheat flour

frosting:

1/3 c peanut butter

1/4 c applesauce

Preparation

1Preheat oven to 350, and grease muffin pans.

2Combine peanut butter, egg, canola oil, vanilla extract, applesauce, and honey mixing well.

3Add carrots to peanut butter mixture, and beat well.

4Sift flour and baking soda together, and slowly stir into peanut butter mixture.

5Spoon into muffin pans and bake 20-25 minutes until toothpick comes out clean.

6For frosting, mix peanut butter and applesauce together with mixer.

7Frost cooled cupcakes

Additional Notes

Before measuring peanut butter for both cupcakes and frosting, spray measuring cup with cooking spray. It is much easier to get it out of the measuring cup. Also spray the measuring cup that you will use for honey to make it easier to get out of the cup.
