Main Ingredients

1 cup butter

2 1/2 cups sugar, granulated

1/3 cup oil, canola

5 eggs, x - large

1 tablespoon extract, vanilla

3 cups flour, all - purpose

1 teaspoon baking powder

1/4 teaspoon salt

1/2 cup milk, whole

1/2 cup buttermilk


1Preheat oven according to pan guide and prepare pans using desired method.

2In large mixing bowl, cream butter, sugar and oil until light and fluffy (approx. 3-5 minutes). Add eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Mix in vanilla.

3Sift flour, baking powder and salt. Add flour mixture alternately with milk/buttermilk mixtures, beginning and ending with flour.

4Pour into prepared pans and bake according to pan guide. Cool 10-20 minutes in pans then turn out onto cooling grid and allow to cool completely before decorating.
