Main Ingredients

for the dough

2 1/2 cups of flour

2 tablespoons of sugar

2 1/4 teaspoons of self rising yeast

1/2 teaspoon of salt

1 cup of hot water (like burn your fingers hot not boiling just really hot)

2 tablespoons of olive oil

for the sauce:

​1 cup of sour cream

1/4 cup of mayo

1 tablespoon of dried dill weed

1 teaspoon of minced garlic

1/2 teaspoon of onion powder

1/2 teaspoon of salt

for the toppings:

8 slices of dill pickles, cut into smaller pieces

3 to 4 cups of pizza mozzarella

olive oil

dried dill weed

Preparation

1In your kitchen aid or other stand mixer, with the dough hook attached, add 1 cup of flour, sugar, yeast, and salt; blend it well.

2Gradually add the hot water and oil to the flour mixture while the machine is on the stir setting or lowest setting. Mix until it is moistened and then turn the speed up to a medium speed and slowly add 1 1/2 to 2 cups of flour. Add as much flour is needed for it to pull away from the sides and the dough is no longer sticky.

3Allow it to mix (or kneed) in the machine for about 3 to 5 minutes. If you would like to kneed it by hand for those few minutes make sure the surface is lightly floured and the dough is smooth and elastic.

4Cover with a tea towel and place in a warm area for 20-30 minutes.

5Prepare the sauce after the dough. Add all ingredients into a bowl and whisk together. Allow around an hour for it to sit in the fridge for the flavours to combine.

6Once dough is done preheat oven to 450F. Using a large pizza pan grease with a bit of olive oil. Roll the dough out into a large 14 inch circle. Place the dough on the pizza pan. Using a fork poke the dough all over, brush with olive oil and let rest for 15 minutes.

7Once dough has rested, cook the pizza shell in the oven for 6 minutes. Remove from oven, spread the prepared sauce on top of the pizza shell, sprinkle cheese all over the top, place pickle pieces all over and finally sprinkle more dried dill weed on top.

8Cook in the oven for 10 to 15 minutes or until cheese is melted and has brown spots and the crust is a golden brown. Once cooked remove from the oven and cut into pieces.
