Main Ingredients

1 1/2 lbs . kale, stems and leaves coarsely chopped

2 tbsp olive oil

2 garlic cloves – finely sliced

1/2 cup water

crushed red pepper flakes to taste (optional)

sea salt and pepper to taste

2 tbsp balsamic vinegar


1Heat olive oil in a large saucepan over medium-high heat.

2Add crushed red pepper flakes, if using, and let them sizzle a bit in the oil.

3Add the garlic and cook until soft.

4Raise heat to high, add the water and kale and toss

5Cover and cook for 5 minutes

6Remove cover and continue to cook, stirring until all the liquid has evaporated

7Season with salt and pepper to taste and add vinegar
