Creamy Wild Rice Soup
A family recipe for the perfect wild rice soup!

6 tbs butter
1 cup half and half
6 squares american cheese
2 tbs chopped onion
1 cup chopped celery
1 cup chopped carrots
Meat and Poultry
4 cups chicken broth
2 cooked chicken breasts
12 oz cuped cooked ham
1/2 cup flour
1 cup cooked wild rice
Herbs and Spices
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp pepper
1/4 tsp curry powder
1In a large pot, melt 6 TBS of butter and saute 2 TBS chopped onion on high.
2Add 1/2c flour to make a roux and whisk for about a minute.
3Add in 4c broth, 1/2 tsp salt, 1/2 tsp pepper, and 1/4 tsp curry powder.
4Add 1c chopped celery and 1c chopped carrots. Cook until soft.
5Add in 1c cooked wild rice, 12 oz chopped ham, and 2 cooked chicken breasts, chopped.
6Mix in 1c half and half and 6 squares American cheese. Stir until cheese is melted.
7Let cook on low-medium 15-30 minutes.
