1/2 lemon, thinly sliced, with rind included

1 inch ginger root, with skin peeled and chopped into thin slices

1 tsp turmeric, powder or fresh

16 oz water

1 dash of honey (optional)

1Bring water to a boil and add lemon slices and ginger root. If using fresh turmeric, peel skin and chop into thin slices, adding it to the boiling water.

2Let mix boil for 15-20 minutes. The longer you let it boil, the stronger it will become.

3Once mix has turned light to dark yellow in complexion, remove from heat and let cool to a drinkable temperature. Depending on how long you let it boil, the amount of water may be less than what you started with.

4Stir in honey and powdered turmeric if you decided not to use the fresh root.
