Cherry sauce is delicious, sweet and is great with a variety of foods. Our favourite is a topping for ice cream, but it's also perfect on waffles topped with whipped cream, or as a glaze on roasted chicken. Simple ingredients make this a quick recipe to make, and allow the cherries to be the shining star!

4 cups fresh, pitted, drained cherries
1 cup sugar
3 tbsp. cornstarch
3 tbsp. water
1Bring cherries and sugar just to a boil over medium high heat.
2Combine cornstarch and water and stir into a paste.
3Pour paste immediately into the boiling cherries and stir quickly until dissolved, clear, and thickened.
4Remove from heat and serve.
