This buttercream frosting is the perfect simple recipe to a great buttercream frosting for your cupcakes, cakes, and lots more desserts. Get creative with different colors, as this is just the BASE recipe for basic buttercream!

1 cup butter at room temp. (16 tbsp butter)
2 1/2 cups confectioners sugar
3 tbsp heavy whipped cream
1 tsp vanilla extract
optional: food coloring
1In your bowl, beat the butter until fluffy and smooth with your electric mixer.
2Add in the sugar, and beat together until it all mixes together. Pour in the heavy whipped cream, and vanilla. Blend until well incorporated. Use a spatula and scrape down the sides and mix again.
3Spoon into your piping bag and frost your cupcakes!
