Black Truffle Olive Oil Marinara

1/2 cup black truffle olive oil*
2 garlic cloves minced
1/2 cup onions chopped
1/4 cup fresh basil
28 oz can of diced tomatoes
1/4 cup red wine

1Place 1/4 cup of the olive oil, garlic and onions in a pot on the stove over medium to high heat. Cook until the onions are translucent.
2Next, add the tomatoes and stir.
3After about 5 minutes add the remaining 1/4 cup of olive oil and the basil. Stir and simmer the sauce for about 5 minutes, then add the wine.
4Stir for another 3-4 minutes and serve over pasta.
If you really want to take this up a notch or two try sautéing fresh mushrooms with the onions. Once the mushrooms release their juices, add the tomatoes and follow the balance of the recipe. To take it one step further add a little garlic bread to your meal.
