Basil Pesto Sauce
Pesto is a delicious sauce that spices up just about any dish. Instead of buying, it is so simple to make and tastes way better. This is a basic basil pesto sauce recipe, but can be easily substituted with other ingredients to make the exact pesto sauce you desire.

3 cups fresh basil, lightly packed
3 cloves garlic
1/2 tsp fresh cracked black pepper
1 tsp sea salt
3 tbsp. fresh lemon juice
1/2 cup olive oil
1/3 cup pine nuts, toasted
1/2 cup grated parmesan
1Add all ingredients except for the olive oil into a food processor. Pulse dry ingredients in food processor until combined.
2While the food processor is running, slowly drizzle in the olive oil. Puree until smooth, stopping if needed to scrape down the sides so that everything is evenly mixed.
3If pesto is too thick, feel free to thin out with a couple tablespoons of extra olive oil or water.
4Taste and season with extra salt and pepper if needed. Store in airtight container for up to 1 week or freeze for up to 1 month.
