Asparagus with Balsamic, Soy Butter Sauce
I’m a huge fan of asparagus. And balsamic vinegar. And soy sauce. So this is pretty much my favorite dish.

2 pounds fresh asparagus
1 tablespoon olive oil
2 tablespoons butter
2 tablespoon soy sauce
2 teaspoon balsamic vinegar
1 tablespoon brown sugar
1Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.
2Wash and trim asparagus. Place the asparagus on a baking sheet and lightly toss the asparagus in the olive oil. You don’t need to drench the asparagus, just lightly coat it to prevent it from drying out in the oven.
3Bake asparagus for 10 to 15 minutes in oven. You may have to adjust the time, depending on the thickness of your asparagus, or if you like your asparagus more firm or tender.
4In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the brown sugar, soy sauce and balsamic. Simmer for about 3 to 5 minutes, or until you can really smell the vinegar (it might make your eyes water a bit). This will thicken the consistency of the butter and vinegar a little. Remove from the heat and add the soy sauce.
5Pour the butter sauce over the asparagus and serve.
