Apple Pear Butter Puree

Fresh apples and ripe pears turn into this sweet, velvety puree with a dash of cinnamon.

Main Ingredients

2 apples, peeled and cored

2 pears, peeled and cored

1/4 teaspoon cinnamon


1Bring a few inches of water to a boil in a pot fitted with a steamer insert.

2When the water is boiling add the apples. If the pears are very firm, go ahead and add those too. You can skip steaming the pears if they are soft and ripe.

3Steam the fruit for 4 minutes.

4Allow to cool slightly for a few minutes, then place the fruit in a food processor and puree until smooth.

5Mix in cinnamon and serve when cool.
