Apple Butter

This fruit butter makes a quick dessert. It's also a great snack on bread or toast. It can also be used in pancake recipes.

Main Ingredients

6 honeycrisp apples (peeled, cored, sliced)

2 red gala apples (peeled, cored, sliced)

2 macintosh apples (peeled, cored, sliced)

2 cups of brown sugar (i prefer dark)

1/2 tsp allspice

1/4 tsp of clove

1 tsp of vanilla


1Mix all ingredients in a pot and bring to a boil. Then reduce heat and cook until tender.

2Once the apples are tender, slowly blend the apples in a blender until smooth.

Additional Notes

I blend my apples in batches. It usually takes about 3 batches to get them all blended together. Don't add any water or other liquid. Store remaining butter in a closed container and refrigerate.
