American Style Pad Ka-prao
American version of this delicious, spicy-sweet Thai dish.

85 - 15 1 lb % ground beef (can substitute ground pork, turkey, or diced chicken)
1 teaspoon tamari or soy sauce
1 can green beans
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 handful of holy basil leaves (can substitute italian basil)
1 large clove garlic, chopped
1 medium onion, sliced
1 red bell pepper, cut into strips
1 - 3 thai chilies, depending on desired spiciness (can substitute tablespoons chili flakes)
1/2 - 1 teaspoon brown sugar, plus more to taste as needed
1Heat a large skillet with 2 tablespoons olive oil. Once oil is hot, add garlic and onion. Cook until onion is translucent. Add chilies (or chili flakes).
2Add in ground beef (or other meat). Keep stir-frying, turning heat down as meat cooks so as not to dry out the meat.
3Add tamari (or soy sauce) and sugar. Keep stirring meat.
4Add green beans and bell pepper. Add basil. Fold into meat, and turn off heat.
5Serve with rice- enjoy!
