Main Ingredients

2 cans black beans

10 dates (dried and pitted)

1/2 cup coconut oil

1/3 cup maple syrup

4 - 6 tbsp cacao powder

Preparation

1Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees F and grease an 8"x 8" pan with coconut oil (or use parchment paper and grease the paper which will be placed in the pan)

2Open the canned black beans, strain and rinse.

3Place the strained and rinsed black beans into a food processor

4In a microwave safe dish melt the coconut oil in the microwaves for about 30-40 second. Once melted add the coconut oil to the beans in the food processor

5Add the dates, maple syrup and cacao powder to the food processor

6Blend on high for about 3-5 mins or until the beans are fully blended and the ingredients are throughly mixed. Be patient. This step is the most important to get the right consistency. The batter should be almost mousse like

7Slowly pour the batter into the pan

8Using a spatula gentle guide the batter to the corners of the pan evenly distributing the batter

9Bake for 40-50 mins or until the outside is crisp but the inside is still gooey

10Enjoy
